We received an order from court to investigate the circumstances of a 16 year old girl, who required an unabridged birth certificate, in order to apply for a passport.
During our investigation, we learnt that her mother passed away from cancer last year and that she does not know her father.
Despite her circumstances she is excelling in school. She is one of 23 students selected by a local high school, to participate in the school’s annual global citizen youth leadership development program. These students are afforded an opportunity to travel to America for an all-expenses paid program, which focuses on the development of youth leadership through community outreach programs.
With the assistance of Badisa, this young lady is able to get the necessary travel documents required, to be part of this global initiative.
