Badisa Trio is a service of Badisa, a registered nonprofit organisation (NPO 011-891, PBO 930 006 348), mandated under the Children’s Act (Act 38 of 2005) to protect vulnerable children in Bellville, Durbanville, Brackenfell, Kraaifontein, and Scottsdene.

MES is a Christian social development organisation that has been transforming lives since 1986, providing sustainable solutions to poverty in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Gqeberha, and Kempton Park. What began as an outreach program in Hillbrow has grown into a movement of hope and restoration.

Through this collaboration, Badisa Trio referred a parent to MES Shelter, where they found not only safety but also healing, guidance, and a renewed sense of purpose.

“At MES Shelter, I found more than just a place to stay—I found a space where my voice truly mattered. For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t just another person lost in the crowd. Through the life skills program, offered in collaboration with Badisa Trio, I wasn’t just tough—I was heard, guided, and uplifted.

At first, I hesitated. Years of hardship had built walls around my heart, making it difficult to trust. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But as the sessions unfolded, something extraordinary happened. Through deep conversations, reflective exercises, and open-hearted sharing, I began to heal. I unpacked my emotions, confronted my past, and for the first time, understood the reasons behind my choices.

For many of us, this was the first time we had been given a space to express ourselves without judgment. We weren’t just being listened to—we were being seen. Our struggles, hopes, and dreams finally mattered.
By the end of the program, the transformation was undeniable. I found my voice. The weight of past trauma began to feel lighter, and for the first time, I saw a path forward. The energy in the room shifted—from uncertainty to confidence, from despair to possibility.

The most humbling moment came when we all expressed our gratitude to the facilitators—people who were present, engaged, and truly willing to listen. We didn’t want the program to end. We felt valued, empowered, and, most importantly, hopeful.

This experience is proof that when people are given the space to heal and the support to grow, they can rediscover their strength and resilience. The journey isn’t over, but a spark has been ignited. Hope has taken root.”

Through collaboration, we change lives.
