Badisa AntonAnton is an 8-year-old boy with curly blonde hair and lots of freckles. He has a dimple on his one cheek when he smiles, and he loves to play chess. Anton has experienced a great deal of trauma in his life and was removed from his parent’s care when he was a baby. His parents have never made contact with him and this has led to feelings of rejection and worthlessness. He has low self-esteem and is always trying to prove himself to others.

2020 was a challenging year for everyone due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but especially for children. Online schooling, family stress and lack of and contact with peers/friends are only a few issues experienced by children. To add to these stressors, Anton also experienced the death of his foster father. This loss was very traumatic for Anton. Not only did he lose his foster father, but the loss also triggered the trauma he has previously experienced with his parent’s abandonment. This trauma has had an impact on Anton’s emotional wellbeing as well as his behaviour at school. At present, there are serious concerns regarding Anton’s inability to manage conflict with peers at school and he is also displaying aggressive behaviour towards his foster mother. This was never previously an issue, and it is likely that he is struggling to manage all of his emotions.

To provide Anton with the necessary support to deal with his trauma, it is necessary to provide him with the necessary play therapy. Play therapy will assist Anton in dealing with his losses and regulating his emotions. Please assist Anton by making a monetary donation to pay for his therapy.

The total cost outstanding for therapy is R1800 (therapy consists of a total of 6 sessions)
