Churches & Individuals: How You Can Make a Difference in 2025
At Badisa Trio, we are passionate about making a lasting impact in our communities, but we need your support to reach even more children in need. Here’s how your congregation and individual efforts can make a huge difference this year:
Our Current Needs
- Safety Parents: We are urgently looking for ordinary people who are willing to open their homes and hearts to children for 90 days. This is a temporary but life-changing way to provide a safe space for vulnerable children.
- Financial Support: The rising cost of living is affecting our ability to continue providing crucial services. Your financial contributions will help sustain the child protection services we offer.
- Volunteers: We are always in need of volunteers, especially in our clothing bank, to help sort, organize, and distribute items to families in need.
- Community Awareness & Prevention Projects: We need support for additional projects and groups. This includes funding for outreach efforts that raise awareness about child protection.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Invite a Badisa Social Worker to Speak: Share the importance of child protection and the work of Badisa in your Sunday services.
- Volunteer Your Time: Help with the clothing bank, maintenance of buildings and vehicles, and event support (sorting, baking, maintenance ).
- Become a Foster Parent: Open your heart to a child in need and change a life forever.
- Donate Items:
- Fleece blankets, clothes & shoes (all ages), toiletries, nappies, blankets, school books, stationery, sanitary items, non-perishable food, treats for children, bedding, household items.
- Join Our Campaigns:
- Participate in #ThursdaysInBlack and purchase your pin at our office.
- Adopt a Badisa Poppie or sponsor a child in need.
- Spread the Word: Share our social media posts with your congregation and encourage them to get involved.
How We Can Support You:
- Educational Workshops & Training: We offer various workshops and training sessions on topics like children’s rights, child protection, anti-bullying, drug prevention, trauma counselling, and more. These are available for Sunday School leaders, church volunteers, and parents.
- Pro Bono Work: We are open to collaborations with professionals in the community. If you or your church members have skills to offer (counselling, training, or advice), we’d love to hear from you!
Upcoming Projects:
- Parenting and Behaviour Modification Groups in the community.
- Mandela Day & Child Protection Week—important events that bring attention to child welfare and offer more opportunities for involvement.
