At Badisa Trio, every outreach opportunity is a chance to encourage, educate, and empower children and young people. Through school visits, holiday programmes, and group sessions, we continue creating safe spaces where children can learn important life skills, express themselves freely, and be reminded that their voices and futures matter.

Human Rights awareness at The Valley Primary School

On 10 April, Badisa Trio visited The Valley Primary School for a Human Rights awareness outreach with the learners. During the visit, the team shared what Human Rights Day is about and why every child’s rights are important.

Learners participated in fun group activities and meaningful discussions around children’s rights, personal safety, and where to go for help when they feel unsafe. The outreach created an engaging and supportive environment where children could ask questions and learn more about their rights and protection.

Kuumba also joined the outreach and shared some of Kuumba’s special stories with the learners. As Badisa’s Care Ambassador, Kuumba helped remind the children that Badisa Trio is a safe place where children can be heard, supported, and protected.

A creative holiday programme for foster children

Badisa Trio Kraaifontein also recently hosted a special holiday programme for foster children, filled with creativity, conversation, and connection. During the activity, the children painted their own “Tree of Life” artworks while speaking about their dreams, strengths, and the things that make them unique.

For some of the children, it was their very first experience using acrylic paint, and it was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored colours, experimented creatively, and shared stories with one another.

The day created a safe and joyful space where children could express themselves freely and build confidence. Every painting told its own story, reminding us that each child carries unique talents, hopes, and the potential for a bright future ahead.

Teaching the Importance of Positive Decisions

The sixth session with the Grade 8–9 group at Scottsdene High School focused on decision-making and the difference between positive and negative choices.

During the session, learners explored how everyday decisions can impact personal growth, relationships, opportunities, and overall well-being. Group discussions encouraged learners to think carefully before making choices and to understand the long-term consequences their decisions may have on their future.

Positive decision-making was highlighted as an important tool for building healthier, safer, and more successful futures. The session reminded learners that every choice matters and that wise decisions today can help create brighter tomorrows for themselves and their communities.

Investing in the Future of Children and Youth

Whether through awareness programmes, creative activities, or life skills sessions, Badisa Trio remains committed to investing in the emotional well-being, safety, and development of children and young people.

Every conversation, every activity, and every safe space created is an opportunity to build confidence, inspire hope, and remind children that they matter. Together, we can continue shaping stronger, kinder, and more empowered communities for the future.
