Every court file represents a child, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard.
As a court-based child protection social worker, my role extends far beyond the courtroom. It involves engaging with children and their families, conducting home visits, consulting with schools and other professionals, gathering collateral information, assessing complex family circumstances, and preparing comprehensive reports to assist the Children’s Court in making decisions that are in the best interests of every child.
This work requires compassion, objectivity, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that children’s voices are heard.
While the circumstances that bring families before the court are often difficult, the goal remains the same: to promote children’s safety, stability, and well-being and, where possible, to strengthen family relationships.
It is a privilege to contribute to a profession that advocates for vulnerable children and supports families through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Every recommendation carries significant responsibility, and I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in pursuit of the best interests of children.
