*Magda has been living in Kraaifontein for over 20 years. She has a heart for the community and always looks out for her neighbours. Magda noticed Liam, aged 6, about 2 weeks ago. He was very thin and his eyes were sunken into his head. His face was very pale and his hair was long and untidy. A very concerned Magda contacted Badisa Trio to alert them about Liam and his family’s circumstances. Liam was severely neglected as the family were struggling financially and therefore had no money for food.
On arrival to Liam’s home, the social worker saw him fast asleep on the floor, with only a small blanket underneath him. He appeared so weak from malnutrition. *Liam was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with Abdominal TB and Diarrhoea. He spent almost a month and a half in hospital receiving the necessary medical care.
Badisia Trio Kraaifontein was able to find suitable safety parents who have been able to provide for Liam both physically and emotionally. Liam’s progress has been phenomenal. He has picked up weight and his big brown eyes seem to glitter with happiness. He is full of life with rosy red cheeks and is always excited to tell his social worker about what he has been doing.
