From Waiting… to Wonder

This is truly a story of hope and brough a tear to the eye.
This is why we do what we do.

Earlier this week, we shared Leia’s hand written poem…

A 13-year-old girl.
No family…
No visits…
Just quiet hope… and poems filled with longing.

But then, something beautiful happened.
Two social workers from Badisa Trio Bellville chose to step beyond the expected… and into her world. ❤️
They took Leia on an adventure she will never forget —
• A boat ride at the V&A Waterfront
• The joy of sightseeing
• A McDonald’s treat, slushies, and sweeties
• And a beautiful new outfit, chosen just for her

For a moment, she wasn’t the girl who stays behind during holidays…
She was a child seen.
A child celebrated.
A child who belongs.
This is what care looks like in action.

At Badisa Trio, social workers don’t just provide services —
they show up with heart, with compassion, and with courage to go the extra mile.
Because sometimes, changing a life doesn’t start with something big…
It starts with a day.
A memory.
A reminder: You matter.

Leia’s story is still being written.
And we believe — with everything in us — that her future is bright.

To our incredible social workers:
Thank you for going beyond the call of duty.
You are changing lives, one child at a time.

And to Leia…
Your story does not end in loneliness.
It continues in hope.
